For more than a decade, Michael Hoyt has served as the City of Daphne’s Municipal Court Judge where he has presided over more than 3,000 cases each year ranging from traffic violations to misdemeanor criminal cases. He also serves as a municipal prosecutor for the City of Foley and is a managing partner of Harbison & Hoyt, the Silverhill law firm he co-founded 17 years ago to assist and represent citizens across Baldwin County on a variety of legal matters and concerns.

A 1996 graduate of Daphne High School, Michael was also honored by his alma mater in the Daphne High School Hall of Fame in 2014 for Outstanding Community Achievement. He attained a B.A. in Public Administration from Auburn University and was inducted into the Pi Alpha Alpha National Honor Society for Public Administration and the Pi Sigma Alpha National Political Science Honor Society during his time there.

In 2006, he earned his law degree with honors from the William H. Bowen School of Law at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. During his time there, he served as President of the Federalist Society, Chairman of the Law School Republicans, a Senator in the Student Bar Association, and was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi Law Honor Society.

Michael is a Conservative Republican and continues to be active in Republican Party leadership at the state and local levels, having served as Chairman of the Baldwin County Republican Party for the last seven years.

Michael and his wife Laurie reside in Daphne with their three children Michael Jr., Kaitlyn and Katherine, and their beloved dog Lucy. The Hoyts are members of St. Patrick Parish, where Judge Hoyt serves as a lector and as a member of the Knights of Columbus.
